Super Bowl First Touch Down Bets

Super Bowl 55 is expected to be a thrilling affair with two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL going head-to-head against their powerful offenses. Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs will face off with Tom Brady and the Buccaneers, with the over/under at 55.5 on Friday.

If you want to place a bet on Super Bowl 55’s First TD scorer, the sky is your limit. Vegas has the lowest odds of winning this TD prop bet, with Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill at +650.

The public’s opinion on DraftKings Sportsbook: First TD scorer

Mike Evans (+900)

Evans is the favorite of the public so far. He commands 21 percent handle and 19% handle on the first touchdown scorer wagers. Evans was the Chiefs’ last opponent and he caught two touchdown passes. He also has the NFL’s third-most red zone touchdowns (99) during the regular season. Evans is Tom Brady’s man if he needs someone to bring down a 50-50 ball deep into enemy territory.

Travis Kelce (+650).

Tyreek Hill and Kelce are both favored. Patrick Mahomes’ favourite weapons combined for 28 touchdowns in the regular season. Kelce scored 11 of those touchdowns. In handle percentage (15%) and percentage of total wagers (13), Evans is second to Mahomes. In red-zone targets (20), he was third, and Evans was ninth in red zone touchdowns (9). Kelce has scored in eight of the last ten games.

Leonard Fournette (+1050)

Fournette holds 11 percent of total bets and 11% of the handle. Since Ronald Jones sustained a quad injury before Tampa Bay’s Wild Card Round matchup with the Washington Football Team, Fournette has taken over as lead back. Fournette has shown a lot of versatility, and has recorded two rushing scores as well as a receiving score in three playoff games. It would not be surprising for his number to be called in a goal-line situation very early on.

Patrick Mahomes (+1800).

Although Mahomes is not a strong candidate, he scored the first touchdown in Super Bowl 54 by running for a score. His odds of winning were +2000. Although he only has three rushing touchdowns this season, the Super Bowl MVP could have benefited from the plethora elite skill players spreading out the opposition and managed to get into the end zone once more. Mahomes is my favorite player to bet on if you want to make a wager on.

Our choice: Travis Kelce

Kelce has been a touchdown machine in recent weeks and it is not to be underestimated. In his last five games, he has accumulated more than 100 yards receiving and scored in three of them. In six consecutive contests, he has been targeted at least ten times. While some players could lose interest, it is unlikely that Kelce will. Since October, he has not been given less than seven receptions per game.
